Reginald D. Cloyd III is an associate in the Insurance and Condominium and Common Interest Association practices. Reggie focuses his insurance practice in the areas of coverage analysis and coverage litigation. He represents insurers in matters including claims related to commercial general liability coverage and professional liability coverage. He also works on coverage matters involving environmental, asbestos and other long tail exposures.
Reggie also represents clients in commercial litigation, including matters involving breach of contract disputes, consumer fraud, breach of fiduciary duties, business fraud, negligence, probate and violations of the Illinois Trade Secrets Act. He has experience in all phases of litigation, including responding to discovery, filing and arguing motions and participating in settlement conferences. Additionally, Reggie litigates a variety of homeowner association matters, from injunctions to collections.
Reggie joined Tressler as a law clerk in 2015. As a law clerk, he assisted attorneys with procedural and substantive legal issues in various practice areas, including: insurance coverage, commercial litigation, local government law and employment law.
Prior to joining Tressler, Reggie served as a Fellow in the City of Chicago Department of Law, Federal Civil Rights Division. While in law school, he served as Production Editor for the Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy and received the Outstanding 3L of the Year from the Black Law Student Association.
