The Illinois Association of Park Districts has published the “Guide to Illinois Sunshine Laws,” February 2012, written by three partners from Tressler’s Local Government Law Practice -
Kathleen Elliott,
John M. O’Driscoll and
Steven B. Adams.
This year, locally elected or appointed board members are required to complete electronic training on the Open Meetings Act administered by the Illinois Attorney General's Public Access Counselor. The “Guide to Illinois Sunshine Laws” provides assistance to park district boards and management in dealing with the everyday application of the Sunshine Laws.
IAPD touts the “Guide to Illinois Sunshine Laws” as a “must-have handbook for every elected official and professional staff when questions arise about The Freedom of Information Act and/or The Open Meetings Act.”
