Practice Focus

Andrew Kopon Jr. is a partner in Tressler’s General Defense Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on the handling of complex civil litigation matters, including catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. He has tried high profile cases and has argued in federal and state appellate courts and the Illinois Supreme Court. Andrew’s trial practice is in a variety of areas and includes product liability, professional malpractice, employment law and insurance coverage matters.

Professional Background

Andrew moved his award-winning practice to Tressler LLP in 2021. He was a founding partner of Kopon Airdo, LLC in Chicago and transitioned to Tressler with an impressive team of associates and staff, providing excellent continuity for his clients. 

Andrew currently serves as National Counsel for a religious risk pooling trust that covers educational institutions, nursing homes and the missions of religious institutes. He also had the privilege of serving as the President of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) in 2017-2018.

Andrew is a charter member of the Leading Lawyers Network Advisory Board whose members are selected based upon their reputation and professional ethics. He has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer for 2022 and in multiple prior years. Andrew is a former member of the Board of Trustees for Loyola Academy located in Wilmette, Illinois. He was the 2018 honoree of the De La Salle Institute Founder’s Award.
