Chiang, Judy Y. Partner
Judy Chiang is a partner in Tressler's Labor and Employment Group in the Orange County office. Her practice areas include management-side labor and employment litigation defense involving discrimination, harassment and wage and hour claims. Judy also counsels employers in connection with a broad array of employee relations issues, including wage and hour, disability leave and harassment investigations. She prepares and reviews personnel policies, employee handbooks and other employment-related materials to ensure a compliant and effective employment platform. Judy is also very knowledgeable in handling workplace violence restraining orders and has represented several employers and attended numerous hearings statewide and prevailed in obtaining the restraining orders.
Judy also has numerous years of civil litigation experience in business and real estate litigation, including, but not limited to, commercial and residential landlord/tenant law, toxic mold litigation, defense of breach of habitability claims, defense of environmental claims (mold, asbestos, etc.), breach of contract claims (breach of lease, purchase and sale agreements, vendor agreements, etc.), premises liability claims, and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) litigation defense. Judy is a licensed real estate broker with the California Department of Real Estate and is very knowledgeable with real estate transactions.
Judy has numerous years of civil litigation experience in Business and Real Estate Litigation, Employment Law, Collection, Commercial and Residential Landlord/Tenant Law, Personal Injury, Toxic Mold Litigation and Arbitration/Mediation.
Prior to joining Tressler, Judy was a partner at a well-known law firm, where she was Chair of the firm’s Employment Practice Group of the Irvine office, with an emphasis in defending property management companies and owners in discrimination, harassment, fair housing, habitability and wage and hour claims. She has settled and tried numerous cases. Judy is an aggressive litigator who will vigorously litigate and defend the clients’ interests. Because of Judy's depth of experience in pretrial litigation strategies, she was invited to teach a CEB class on “Civil Litigation Before Trial.” She also has first chair trial experience in employment cases.
She clerked for the Honorable James Barr of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Central District, worked for the State Bar of California and worked for firms that specialized in litigation.
Judy plays the piano and guitar and is a trained singer. She enjoys singing, shopping and eating out and trying new cuisines.
