Cahill, Mary Denise Of Counsel
Mary Denise Cahill is a well known and respected attorney in the area of education law. Her practice at Cahill & Associates Law Group concentrates on, but is not limited to, areas of school law, special education law and student disability rights law. Her extensive experience also includes matters of guardianship and estate planning for families with special needs issues. She has drafted and reviewed innumerable IEP documents, attended IEP meetings, participated in mediations and engaged in due process hearings. Her firm represents clients in ADA, Section 504 and IDEIA matters as well as residency and disciplinary issues.
Prior to starting her own practice, Denise had a successful career with the Chicago Board of Education as the supervising attorney in the Law Department. She has litigated numerous matters related to disabilities, sex and race discrimination and equal pay in the Federal Courts; as well as violations of the ADA, IDEIA and Section 504.
Denise previously served as an adjunct professor of law at Chicago Kent College Law where she taught Legal Writing and at Benedictine University (Illinois) where she taught School Law.Denise earned both her B.S. and J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Arizona and the United States Supreme Court. She also holds a teaching certificate in Illinois.
