William R. Lowe is an attorney in the Insurance Practice Group in our Orange County, California Office. Bill specializes in insurance coverage issues relating to the duties to defend and indemnify actions under various liability policies. He defends both first and third party bad faith actions involving claims handling, coverage, cancellations and statutory liability. Bill has defended insurers in direct fraud actions and has also defended a number of actions involving alleged unfair claims practices and alleged violations of the Business and Professions Code. Bill is also a seasoned appellate attorney and has over 12 published decisions from the Court of Appeal.

Professional Background

Bill moved his award-winning practice to Tressler LLP in 2022. He was a founding manager of a well-known insurance and litigation law firm in California. He transitioned to Tressler with an impressive team of attorneys and staff, providing excellent continuity for his clients.

Bill is a seasoned appellate attorney, with many appeals in bad faith actions. He has provided over 5,000 coverage opinions in the insurance coverage area, has filed and prosecuted countless declaratory relief actions on behalf of insurers and has over 50 trials in declaratory relief actions. His work for numerous insurance companies has allowed him to gain experience providing opinions regarding the duty to defend under a liability policy, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, breach of contract, battery, infliction of emotional distress, economic damages, policy period, business pursuits, offense based torts, willful conduct and rights regarding independent counsel. His work for insurance companies also includes defending numerous cases involving agency liabilities. 

He has handled a wide variety of specialized tort litigation including malicious prosecution, construction defect, product liability, boundary line disputes and condominium association issues.
