Tressler LLP has promoted attorney Shannon Harvey to partner. Shannon is a member of Tressler’s General Defense Litigation Practice Group. She joined Tressler as a law clerk in 2007 and became an associate in 2008.
“Shannon has worked hard to successfully establish the business case for her promotion to partnership,” said Mark Banovetz, partner and member of Tressler’s Executive Committee. “She has been an important part of our team for more than a decade, and her enthusiastic dedication to her clients and to this firm makes her a joy to work with. Shannon is a consistently productive lawyer, and her interest in networking and building valuable client relationships is the additional dimension that makes her stand out. She has an impressive range of experience in a multitude of practice areas and we look forward to seeing her continue to achieve her goals as partner in the firm.”
Shannon handles a wide variety of complex commercial and personal injury litigation with a focus on products liability and mass tort matters. She is a trial lawyer who is in state and federal Court every week and has successfully participated in numerous jury trials. Shannon is also very experienced with the mediation process and has successfully negotiated reasonable settlements in cases where liability and damages issues were strongly contested. Shannon also advises and works with local government clients on a daily basis. In addition to providing constant updates on Illinois municipal law, she serves as local prosecutor for two local municipalities. Shannon was selected as a 2019 Illinois Rising Star.
“For the last several years, Tressler gave me a front row seat to learn from some of their finest attorneys - Jennifer Johnson, John Huston and Si-Yong Yi, to name a few,” said Shannon Harvey. “With that training and experience in mind, I am both humbled and honored to continue to work alongside the talented attorneys at this firm who maintain the Tressler tradition of client dedicated service.”
Prior to joining Tressler, Shannon worked for the Cook County State’s Attorney Office. While with the State’s Attorney’s Office, Shannon participated in numerous trials in the Circuit Court of Cook County and submitted appellate briefs to the Illinois Appellate Court. In addition to her practice, she serves on the Palos Heights Zoning Board of Appeals and is a member of the Irish Fellowship of Chicago, a not-for-profit organization that is devoted to celebrating Irish culture while supporting several Chicagoland charities. Shannon earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and her B.S. from The George Washington University.
