Where are you from?
I am originally from Palatine, IL. I lived in Chicago's Lakeview East for a few years before moving to the Uptown neighborhood.
What was your first job?
My first job ever was working as a sports camp counselor in the summers between college semesters. To start my legal career, I was an associate attorney at a small firm in Rosemont, IL.
What's your favorite way to unwind after a busy day?
I like watching reality TV, specifically Vanderpump Rules and The Valley.
What is on your bucket list?
I want to see the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. I will be going to see it this September!
Why did you decide to become an attorney?
The easy answer would be because my mother is an attorney. The longer answer is that I did not initially plan on being an attorney. Since high school, I have always dreamed of becoming a sports agent. However, becoming an attorney was the next best option, and that brings me to where I am today. Attorneys and sports agents share similar characteristics and I hope that practicing law will give me the tools necessary to fulfill my dream of still becoming a sports agent one day. Until then, I enjoy working at Tressler, handling unique litigation matters and interacting with our wonderful clients.
Tell us about a time in your life when you persevered.
I have played baseball my entire life. I still play today in a men’s league. However, baseball has taken some of my health with it. In high school, I strained my UCL ("Tommy John" injury) but thankfully did not need surgery. I sat out almost six months without playing or practicing. At Mizzou, I played in the intramural league and tore my ankle freshman year. I missed the entire spring season. The following year, I tore my shoulder in the first fall game of the year. I sat out another entire year. I was able to play the entire season without injury in my final year at Mizzou. I think the lesson I learned is that, even if I fall, I still get back up.
Any cool facts about your personal life?
I played baseball with current Chicago Bears Tight End Cole Kmet while at St. Viator High School, and I actually played over him at 1B a few times. Also, I have won multiple The Office trivia nights.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
Avengers: End Game.
What is your favorite horror movie?
Scream; in my opinion, it might be the best movie franchise of all time.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Seriously, it is the best show.
What do you like most about Tressler?
I like the vibe of the Chicago office. The attorneys and staff members are collaborative and approachable. I am excited to continue getting to know everyone more as I grow my career at Tressler.
