Danita Davis Sudac is an associate in the Insurance and Litigation practices. She represents insurers in matters in connection with insurance issues, including claims related to commercial general liability coverage and professional liability coverage.
Her practice areas include Insurance, Litigation, Commercial Litigation, and Coverage Analysis. She received her J.D. from Valparaiso University and currently works out of Tressler’s Chicago office.
Where are you from?
I grew up just outside of Valparaiso, Indiana.
What was your first job?
Like many kids in Indiana, my first job was detasseling corn. Do you know the difference between male and female corn?
Why did you choose your areas of practice?
I really enjoy research and writing. Coverage matters and coverage litigation fit the bill. Each matter is unique and I am challenged on a regular basis.
What do you like most about Tressler?
The work environment at Tressler is fantastic. It’s a pleasure to come to the office and work with wonderful, smart, and forward-thinking colleagues. If I encounter a new legal issue or want to bounce an idea off someone, the attorneys at Tressler offer a wide range of knowledge as well as a wealth of experience that allows for a collaborative effort.
What are you most proud of, professionally and/or personally?
Like many working parents, it is often difficult to juggle work, family and friends. I think I’m most proud of my work-life balance.The people at Tressler understand the importance and value of personal and family time.
What books are at your bedside?
Infinite Jest and a Tale of Two Cities.
What is the one thing you cannot resist?
Chocolate- covered almonds. A full bag never lasts one night in our house.
What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I love to garden and work in my yard. My husband bought me a weed-whacker this spring and I’ve been keeping busy every weekend!
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I’d like to think I’d be a great florist.
What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
Despite modern trends, a perm does not look good on everyone.
