Bicvan Brown is an associate in the Employment Litigation practice. She focuses her practice on labor and employment trials, class actions, arbitrations and mediations. She has experience in handling wage and hour class actions, workers’ compensation defense and insurance defense matters.
Her litigation practice includes defending employment actions under the Fair Employment and Housing Act including gender, pregnancy, race, ancestry, color, religion, age, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, wrongful termination claims, whistleblower claims, wage and hour claims, FLSA collective actions, PAGA actions and retaliation matters. Bicvan also represents employers in administrative actions before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the California Labor Commission and Bicvan provides best practices advice on topics such as how to successfully hire and fire employees; successfully navigating the ADA-required interactive process; how to provide reasonable accommodations; creating up-to-date arbitration agreements to waive class action trials, commission agreements, expense reimbursement policies, and employee handbooks; and accurate translations of employee handbooks to Spanish.
