Practice Focus
Maxwell Davis is an associate attorney in Tressler’s Litigation Practice Group in our San Francisco, California office. Maxwell supports his clients through every stage of the dispute resolution process, which starts by digging into the facts by reviewing documents, interviewing witnesses, and researching the legal issues that shape the overall strategy. He then drafts motions, briefs, and memoranda that help frame the arguments, and he collaborates closely with partners to develop clear, persuasive positions that advance our clients’ goals.
He is also involved in the day-to-day management of active cases, from coordinating discovery to preparing for hearings, depositions, and trial. Whether he is analyzing complex records, crafting written advocacy, or helping map out the next tactical step, his focus is on delivering thoughtful, thorough work that strengthens the case and supports the broader litigation team.
Maxwell gained experience during law school drafting memos, motions, and briefs for judges, the ACLU, Bay Area Legal Aid, and the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office. Most recently, he prepared briefs and proposed motions while practicing in worker’s compensation defense.
Before attending law school, Maxwell worked at various law offices to prepare legal documents and provide exceptional client service as a practice assistant to the firm’s partners.
Outside of work, Maxwell is an avid chess player, a dedicated cinephile, and an enthusiastic hiker. He enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy novels, and he spends his free time pursuing creative writing projects that reflect his imagination and love of storytelling.
