Role Description
We are seeking an Associate attorney to join our Local Government Practice Group in our Bolingbrook office. The ideal candidate will provide general counsel services to local governmental bodies, including municipalities, school districts, library districts, and park districts. This role offers some hybrid work flexibility.
Essential job duties include:
- Counseling clients on contract review and employment matters.
- Handling ordinance prosecutions and enforcement actions.
- Responding to board member inquiries and governance questions.
- Providing legal guidance on purchasing and procurement processes.
- Assisting with real estate and property-related issues.
- Supporting clients with various day-to-day operational legal needs.
Qualifications
- Active Illinois bar license required.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills.
- Experience in municipal or public sector law is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
- Experience in corporate formation or estate planning is a valuable plus, though not required.
Salary is commensurate with experience; however, first-year associates start at $105,000.
