Colleen Regas Joins Tressler’s Local Government Practice Group
Tressler is thrilled to welcome Colleen Regas as an associate attorney in Tressler’s Local Government Practice Group. Colleen represents municipalities, park districts, library districts, school districts, and other local government entities. Her practice includes prosecuting ordinance violations, handling day-to-day operations, counseling regarding employment, purchasing and land use matters, litigation, and advising clients on eminent domain and property acquisition issues.
Colleen is committed to providing strategic, practical legal counsel that enables public entities to effectively carry out their governmental responsibilities while serving the interests of their communities.
“I am very pleased to begin this next chapter with Tressler and value the opportunity to work alongside skilled attorneys in serving municipalities and other local government clients,” said Colleen Regas. “I look forward to contributing to the firm’s commitment to exceptional client service and practical legal solutions.”
Prior to becoming an attorney, Colleen spent more than four years working in insurance litigation defense as a claims adjuster, managing complex, high-exposure claims for large commercial clients. Colleen later earned her law degree and began her legal career as a prosecutor with the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, where she gained extensive courtroom experience handling criminal prosecutions. Drawing on her civil and criminal background, she brings a practical, well-rounded perspective to representing public entities and addressing the diverse legal challenges they face.
While in law school, Colleen graduated cum laude and was awarded the Barrister’s Scholarship. She also received the CALI Award twice for achieving the highest grade in both U.S. Trademark Law and U.S. Copyright Law.
Colleen received her J.D. and B.S. in Business Management & Economics from the University of Illinois Chicago.
