Erin L. Peters

Tressler is pleased to recognize partner Erin L. Peters for publishing an article in the Summer 2026 issue of the New Jersey Defense, a publication of the New Jersey Defense Association.

Erin authored “Murray Decided: New Jersey Supreme Court Holds Future Medical Expenses Within Available PIP Limits Are Not Boardable,” which examines the New Jersey Supreme Court’s unanimous decision in Murray v. Punina. The May 6, 2026, ruling held that future medical expenses that do not exceed a plaintiff’s available personal injury protection (PIP) limits are considered “collectible” and therefore inadmissible at trial.

In her article, Peters discusses the decision’s significance for New Jersey automobile litigation and highlights important considerations for defense counsel, including evaluating remaining PIP limits, projected treatment costs, and applicable reimbursement limitations. She also addresses the decision’s impact following the Legislature’s 2019 amendments to the No-Fault Act.

Congratulations to Erin on this publication and her continued contributions to the legal community through thoughtful analysis of significant developments in New Jersey.
