We are proud to announce that Tressler Partner and Executive Committee Member Mark Banovetz recently completed his FAA certification as a Commercial Pilot! Mark leads Tressler’s Aviation Practice Group and has been an instrument-rated private pilot for more than 22 years.
Mark has been working towards his FAA Commercial Pilot certification for the past three years. The certification requires ground and flight training, an FAA written commercial pilot exam and an oral and practical exam with an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner. Mark passed his check ride flight with the FAA examiner in Michigan on July 28, 2022. We are thrilled to congratulate Mark on this great achievement.
“I love all aspects of aviation. In particular, the adrenaline rush of formation flight and airshow flying is second to none. I think taking on new challenges makes me a better pilot and a more knowledgeable aviation lawyer," said Mark Banovetz. "I hope to continue pushing boundaries and expanding my aviation experience. I am proud to bring a unique perspective and first-hand knowledge to the table when representing our clients throughout the country.”
Last year, Mark earned his Formation and Safety Team (FAST) Wingman Certification, which makes him eligible to fly formation airshows in waivered airspace over major public venues such as NASCAR, Indy car races and NFL games. He flies his yellow Navy T-34 Mentor in formation as part of the internationally acclaimed Lima Lima Flight Team. The team recently flew in the airshow over World Wide Technology Raceway in St. Louis for the official start of the NASCAR 300 Race.
