Sayra V. Contreras Joins Tressler’s HOA Practice Group
Tressler is excited to welcome Sayra V. Contreras as an associate in our HOA Practice Group. Sayra concentrates her practice in litigation with a focus on representing condominium associations and common interest community associations in areas such as rule enforcement, interpretation of governing documents, review and negotiation of contracts and collection of assessments.
“Joining Tressler LLP as a litigation attorney is a remarkable opportunity. I admire Tressler’s collaborative culture and commitment to excellence. I am eager to use my skills to help our clients navigate complex legal challenges in today’s ever-evolving legal landscape,” said Sayra Contreras.
Prior to joining Tressler LLP, Sayra worked as an associate attorney at a real estate firm in Chicago, representing residential and commercial real estate owners. She effectively litigated a multitude of cases dealing with landlord-tenant disputes.
During law school, Sayra not only excelled academically, making the Dean’s List and earning the Award for Highest Grade in both Legal Writing IV and Arbitration, but she also received prestigious recognition as an Award Recipient of the National Order of Scribes, being one of only six law students chosen from her graduating class. She completed a transformative 10-week fellowship at the Farmworker & Landscaper Advocacy Project (FLAP), a non-profit organization in Chicago dedicated to improving working conditions for thousands of migrant and seasonal workers in Illinois. Additionally, Sayra was honored as a Peggy Browning Foundation Fellowship Recipient, one of just 87 law students selected nationwide. Her commitment to leadership was further demonstrated through her role as an elected Executive Board Member of the Corporate Law Society and as a Student Ambassador and Panelist for Admitted Students. Alongside these accomplishments, she participated in the UIC John Marshall International Human Rights Clinic, providing a wide range of immigration services, and gained practical experience as an insurance defense law clerk and teaching assistant for her criminal law professor.
Sayra earned her J.D. from University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and her B.A. in Sociology with a minor in political science from Northern Illinois University.
