We are proud to announce that Tressler litigation attorneys Jennifer A. Dancy and Jessica O’Brien successfully presented oral argument in Washtenaw County, Michigan, and secured a Dismissal with Prejudice for their client. The Plaintiff sought to recover for alleged damages to their aircraft, including property damage, loss of use, and diminished value. Jennifer and Jessica did an excellent job advocating for their client, even after the Plaintiff had a “change of heart” and attempted to back out of the previously agreed-upon settlement agreement. The Court agreed with Jennifer and Jessica that the agreement between the parties formed a valid and enforceable contract, and granted Dismissal with Prejudice in favor of the Defendant.

About Jennifer A. Dancy

Jennifer is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. She focuses her practice in the areas of aviation, product, complex civil litigation, and premise liability, as well as insurance coverage litigation. She has represented clients in commercial and general aviation matters, including issues of alleged pesticide drift, flight instruction, airline negligence, as well as matters involving the NTSB and FAA. Jennifer has an active practice reviewing and advising as to the risks associated with VA disability claims of military aviators seeking First and Second Class Medical Certificates.

About Jessica O’Brien

Jessica is senior counsel in Tressler’s Insurance Services Practice Group. She concentrates her practice on coverage matters, including bad faith and extra-contractual liability litigation involving a variety of tort issues. She has a particular interest in trucking and motor carrier, construction defect, and sex and human trafficking exposures. Jessica evaluates and analyzes insurance coverage matters, conducts risk assessments for insurance carriers, and prepares coverage opinions and position letters. She also manages coverage litigation. Jessica has consistently obtained favorable results for her clients by settling a range of insurance coverage and liability disputes.
