Role Description
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Irvine, California office. Matters handled by this dynamic group include the analysis of various types of claims as well as high-stakes litigation. This is a hybrid position in our Irvine office.
Essential job duties include:
- Overseeing complex insurance coverage litigation and managing multiple cases from onset to resolution in state and federal courts.
- Conducting thorough analysis of insurance policies and coverage provisions to determine coverage and liability.
- Providing strategic legal advice to clients on insurance coverage issues, policy interpretation, and case status reports.
- Preparing and drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and supporting briefs for court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Drafting coverage opinions, legal memoranda and briefs, and advising clients on insurance coverage matters.
- Conducting legal research and preparing memoranda on coverage and litigation matters.
- Collaborating with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies.
- Handling all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Preparing and responding to written discovery.
- Representing clients in coverage disputes.
- Defending cases in civil litigation and in binding arbitration proceedings in both state and federal court.
- Preparing comprehensive written reports to insurance carriers and/or self-insured entities.
- Attending court hearings and oral arguments both remotely and in-person.

Qualifications
- Active bar license in California
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- At least 3-5 years of Insurance coverage and/or Litigation experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional writing, organizational, and advocacy skills

Salary Commensurate with experience: $150,000 to $185,000 per year
