Practice Focus

Alexander (Alex) Myers serves as an associate in Tressler’s Local Government and Litigation Practice Groups. His practice is primarily focused on civil rights litigation, tort litigation, employment litigation and counseling, matters arising from section 1983, and police misconduct.

Alex’s legal background as a Deputy Attorney General for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General (OAG) encompassed numerous litigation topics across both state and federal courts. This includes experience in interpreting, effectuation, and defending state statutes and administrative rulings. Pulling from these cases, Alex can offer comprehensive legal services, ranging from consultation to litigation. His diverse body of work also makes him uniquely suited to research and answer more novel legal inquiries.

Alex has extensive, practical in-court experience defending clients against section 1983 suits, personal injury and property disputes, land use issues, and employment complaints. His work in constitutional litigation spans from the First Amendment Rights of employees to the state’s inherent powers under eminent domain. He has successfully defended his clients through all stages of litigation, and through that process, has gained valuable litigation skills.

Prior to joining Tressler, Alex was a Deputy Attorney General for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General (OAG) in the Government Litigations section. In that capacity, Alex took the lead on an extensive caseload and was tasked with developing the strategies deployed therein. During his time at the OAG, Alex engaged in every aspect of the litigation process. He primarily worked on Section 1983 cases, handling matters ranging from retaliation and equal protection claims to excessive force and deliberate indifference claims. Alex also handled employment discrimination cases.
